December 2006
Last Sunday saw around twenty seven Westgate Wanderers venture to
Geelong to donate toys and other gifts in the annual Geelong HOGS
Toy Run. And thanks in a large part to John and Lyn Tout who raised
around $125 at an auction for their donation via the Toy Warehouse of
Hoppers Crossing, of plenty of great fluffy toys.
The day started
off with a group
of fifteen riders
and pillions and
one car leaving
Macca’s at 9AM
heading for Gee-
long. Our group
was boosted
with the separate
arrivals of an-
other ten riders.
The day was hot
and were off as
soon as we turned ignitions off. Most members decked their bikes out
with some tinsel. The ride took off at 10.30 and a fair estimate would
have been between 750 and 1,000 bikes. We left Geelong amongst cars
and traffic and
headed for a
break in the park
at Portarlington.
After that it was
onto Queenscliff
for a sausage,
hamburger and
drink. Members
left in a few
groups and met
at BP Avalon for
farewells. All in
all, another good
day on two
wheels!
