AGM time

This month marks the end of our Branch year and fol-

lowing our normal May monthly branch meeting our AGM

will be held.

It’s amazing to think that only 30 months ago the West-

gate Wanderers was a mere thought in the minds of Ron

Johnson and Ray Worthey. Ron and Ray, both members

of the Geelong Branch felt a need existed to create a

new branch that served the interests of Ulyssians of

Melbourne’s West and Northwest. And how right they

were. Our Branch was formed and became an instant

success and much of the credit of this success is due to

the great efforts put in by Ron and Ray. Today our

branch is strong and vibrant and provides a fantastic

forum and outlet for Ulyssians. The centre-piece of the

Westgate Wanderers is our magnificent website that

was ably put together and maintained by Ron’s younger

brother, Col.

The 2007 AGM marks the end of another year and is

the time for a new committee to be elected. We wish all

of our new committee members the very best of sup-

port and hope that they enjoy their year at the helm or

should that be the handlebars of the Westgate Wan-

derers.

This year is another giant step forward for the WW

because we have two female members joining the com-

mittee. Well done Ornella and Wendy for stepping for-

ward to do your bit for the Branch. Good luck to all!!!
